Switching to EmWi V6.10 & Mosaic 2.0?
We recommend to our customers, to use the latest version EmWi V6.10, to benefit from it's improvements. It enables maintenance and development of GUI projects based on both class library versions Mosaic 1.0 and Mosaic 2.0. For every newly created project, developers can choose to base the project on either Mosaic 1.0 or Mosaic 2.0.
If you are using Embedded Wizard for maintenance of GUI reference software, e.g. from a semiconductor vendor, please contact your SC vendor before switching to EmWi V6.10 regarding compatibility of their reference software and new EmWi V6.10.
If you are starting a new GUI project with Embedded Wizard, we highly recommend to use class library Mosaic 2.0, as it facilitates the startup phase enormously. Please check the requirements for using Mosaic 2.0 below.
If you are maintaining existing GUI projects, based on Mosaic 1.0, we recommend to keep using Mosaic 1.0 until you plan a major extension or re-design of your GUI project.
Requirements for using Mosaic 2.0
"Mosaic" is the class library of Embedded Wizard, which provides widgets and functions to make your UI development easier. The usage of new version Mosaic 2.0 requires the availability of Graphics Engine 2.0 (GE 2.0) for your embedded target platform. TARA continues to make GE 2.0 available on more and more new hardware platforms. Please contact us for specific questions about your platform.
