The dongle refuses me working with EmWi
Description:
If the dongle refuses working with EmWi, you get an error message in the log window of the EmWi Software or a popup message with a error description like “Missing Embedded Wizard security device”. The reason can be a missing feature or platform activation in your dongle or even a broken dongle.
Solution:
Before you contact the EmWi support you should try the following things:
1. Please try the dongle on another computer. Does it work at another computer?
2. If possible try another dongle on your computer. Does another dongle work on the same computer?
3. If you use the dongle with a USB-Hub, remove the HUB(s) and try to connect direct to a USB port on your computer.
4. Try another USB port on your computer.
5. If you get it not working by one of these steps, please contact TARA with the following information:
- Your four digit license number on the key fob of your dongle (e.g.: No. 1044)
- Your PC’s OS version (e.g.: Japanese WinXP, Service Pack 3)
- Your EmWi Software version
- The detailed error message (as text or screenshot)
If the problem is not due to a missing feature or platform license, we will send you an activation file to try a reactivation of your dongle. If this can not solve the problem, the dongle is broken and need to be sent back to TARA for further investigations with our dongle supplier. Dependent on the license warranty we will offer you a replacement dongle or send it for free, as soon as we have received the broken dongle.
