The Bosch Home Comfort Group, a leading provider of heating, cooling, and energy solutions, has relied on Embedded Wizard for many years to develop modern user interfaces. A key factor in this success is the collaboration with our GUI Services Team, which supports Bosch developers in tackling challenging specialized GUI development tasks. Together, we have ensured that control units and system regulators for heat pumps, gas and oil boilers, and solar systems are not only efficient but also user-friendly.
Smart and Intuitive Interfaces for Advanced Heating Solutions
Our GUI Services Team supported the development of user interfaces based on Embedded Wizard for the Bosch RT 800 and Buderus Logamatic RC 200, two innovative solutions from the Bosch Home Comfort Group.
The Bosch RT 800 offers seamless operation for up to two heating circuits with one device. With its intuitive touch interface, the RT 800 provides effortless control of the entire heating system, delivering all relevant information conveniently. Equipped with built-in temperature and humidity sensors, it supports heating, hot water, solar, hybrid, and ventilation systems, making it a versatile and user-friendly solution for modern home comfort.
The Buderus Logamatic RC 200 serves as a standalone controller or remote control. Its large color display and easy-to-use interface make heating adjustments effortless. Explore the GUI interactively in your web browser and navigate through the UI here.
Both products focus on smart design and advanced technology to deliver energy-efficient, user-friendly, and sustainable heating solutions.
Maximizing Performance on Limited Resources
A hallmark of the GUI development for both products is the challenge of unlocking the full potential of the microcontrollers (MCUs) in use—especially given the constraints of limited memory and processing power. While Bosch developed the middleware and the visual design of the user interfaces, our GUI Services Team played a pivotal role in delivering the finishing touches:
- Optimizing performance on constrained hardware: Our team worked closely with Bosch to ensure that even complex screens were rendered smoothly and efficiently.
- Handling specialized tasks: From integrating complex animations to fine-tuning rendering processes, our GUI Services Team was instrumental in addressing Bosch’s most demanding development requirements.
The complementary nature of Bosch’s in-house expertise and our specialized support has proven to be a key success factor.
A Long-Term Partnership with Vision
The close collaboration between Bosch and our GUI Services experts has proven successful and continues to evolve. A key achievement of this partnership is the reusability of core software components, enabling new products to be developed efficiently by building on existing modules. This approach has reduced development time and costs while accelerating innovation cycles.
In the past, we supported Bosch with the development of intuitive UIs for successful products like the Bosch UI 800, a versatile system control unit, or the IVT Geo 500 heat pump. The well-structured software architecture we established ensured scalability across brands, allowing Bosch to adapt GUI components for future products.
This track record underscores how the partnership between Bosch Home Comfort Group and Embedded Wizard’s GUI Services Team combines internal expertise with external support to deliver exceptional results. We look forward to continuing this successful collaboration and tackling future challenges side by side.
