KaVo Dental GmbH is one of the world’s leading suppliers of products for dentists and dental technicians. Since it was founded in 1909, KaVo has made its mark in dentistry with numerous significant innovations and the development of innovative technology.

In early 2017, KaVo released the new KaVo ELECTROmatic Premium system, an ultimate all-in-one device which combines a special Preparation and Endodontic mode, which are used in dental treatment. The GUI has been developed with Embedded Wizard by our GUI Services team in collaboration with KaVo and runs on an ARM Cortex M controller with a 4.3’’ TFT color touch screen.

The Solution

The complex operation is represented on an easy-to-use and intuitive user interface which shows all the settings at a glance. The 5 preset endo workflows with up to 10 endo files are easily programmable due to library based endo file systems. This helps the dentist to spend less time on setting up the system and to make needed adjustments very quickly and without difficulty.

For demonstration and training purposes, KaVo also used the WebGL Platform Package, which allows running an embedded GUI entirely within any common web browser as a single-page application.

Now the GUI project has been completely taken over by KaVo. Still, we will gladly provide support if required.

KaVo ELECTROmatic successfully passed the certification in accordance with IEC 60601-1, IEC62304 as well as FDA 510(k) in 2017.
