Its user interface is the “business card” of each device. Users generally evaluate electronic equipment subjectively on the basis of its usability. This is the case in the industrial and professional environment, too. If a large, brightly-lit graphic display invites potential buyers to implement multitouch and gesture controls, they tend to respond positively. However, in addition to the hardware the structure and navigation strategy of the operating menu are of great importance.
Industrial and professional electronic equipment also depends on a modern, sophisticated human-machine interface (HMI). But how can developers create an attractive HMI? The DESIGN & ELEKTRONIK Developers’ Forum “HMI – Components & Solutions” invited different suppliers of software and hardware to present their solutions and ideas.
We were able to show GUI demo applications generated with Embedded Wizard on a number of new platforms:
In addition Manuel Melic – Product Manager for Embedded Wizard – gave a presentation on “Best Practices in Embedded GUI Development”. The presentation was devoted to typical problems facing developers at the beginning of an embedded GUI project. He revealed tips and tricks on how high-performance, platform-independent GUI applications can quickly be created. Issues such as software architecture, prototyping, performance optimization, and many others were looked at.
