BATEC is a global operating company, which is specialized in the planning, installation and maintenance of highly reliable fire extinguishing systems. The base system has been developed by BATEC together with its partner, a developer and manufacturer of complex embedded electronic products with a strong focus on miniaturization, cost optimization for their customers and just-in-time availability. For the realization of the GUI part BATEC engaged our services team in order to accelerate the development process.
The brand‑new BA 400 Fire Control system for industrial factories is the first of its kind to feature an embedded graphical user interface. The intuitive, touch‑based operating concept ensures excellent usability and allows operators to interact with the system easily and efficiently. Real‑time access to detailed system health information, including warnings and event history, enables a better understanding of potential issues and their causes. All critical information is immediately available on the user interface, allowing operators to react quickly when action is required. In addition, the system supports remote and self‑diagnosis, further simplifying operation and maintenance. Multiple authorization levels provide a high degree of security, ensuring that important settings can only be modified by authorized personnel. Designed specifically for industrial use, the BA 400 Fire Control meets strict requirements for electrical and functional safety, temperature resistance, and long‑term availability.
The GUI was implemented in a very short time. Well pre-structured widgets and instant prototyping & simulation were of particular importance, as the GUI and the middleware could be developed in parallel. Furthermore, the GUI is available in multiple languages, which has been developed within a single GUI project. Whenever the current user language is switched, all dependencies are evaluated and displayed automatically. The development has been taken over by BATEC in a handover workshop, so that they can make modifications if necessary by themselves.
