ACTIA is specialized in high added value electronic onboard systems, which are tailored for commercial vehicle market. With a strategy based on quality, innovation and customer-oriented service, the group is today a leader on its core business. With their dashboard solutions, they address manufacturers of buses, trucks and off-road vehicles worldwide.

The Solution

ACTIA has meanwhile launched its new generation of its clusters Multic FS features a 1280x480px display and is controlled by a Renesas CPU. Smooth rendering of the high-performance dashboard UI is enabled through the use of Renesas’ 2D Graphic-Accelerator RGA and ARM NEON.

The Multic FS is itself deployed at Actia’s customers with an Embedded Wizard reference application, which helps them to get started quickly. They use the Embedded Wizard Studio to customize the reference application exactly according to their needs and thus create a brand-defining user interface in a very easy and efficient way.

Back in 2011, ACTIA chose to go with Embedded Wizard due to its performance capability, lowest RAM and flash footprint, platform independency and the possibility to develop a stand-alone GUI framework for their customers. Since then, ACTIA has launched meanwhile three generations of its dashboard and is also developing new products running with Embedded Wizard.

Next to Embedded Wizard’s great performance, lean footprint and easy customization, also its platform independency is a big benefit for our development. We can spread the GUI’s development costs over multiple product generations and are free to select the platform which meets our requirements best. This has already been proven several times.
